TONIGHT: THE BUMPTET

The Bumptet is an explosive new project with deep roots in the West Coast jam scene. With an ear to the funk and groove masters of yesterday, and a desire to create new and daring instrumental landscapes, The Bumptet is equally at home with a packed dance floor as they are in a mellow jazz club. Come out and catch a show and “Let The Music Take Your Mind”.

TONIGHT: RJ MISHCO

Out of Fayetteville, Ak RJ’s coming home in a rare appearance that you don’t want to miss.  Get in early, the place’ll pack out.

TONIGHT: ALKALI FLATS

The Alkali Flats hail from Sacramento, California and play high powered hillbilly and honky-tonk music.  On Friday, November 9th they celebrate their 10th anniversary at the Torch Club.  This once in a lifetime performance will feature darn near every member and guest musician that has played with the band over their tenure as one of Sacramento’s premier hillbilly bands.

COMING UP: RJ MISCHO

Just a heads up to y’all who have a nasty itch for some of the baddest harp you’ll see come through the doors of the Legendary Torch Club.  RJ Mischo drops in this weekend for a rare performance, and this cat is arguably at the top of the top of the ‘must see’ list. Here–  I’ll say no more.  Go here and listen.  Then roll by the Torch this weekend prepared to shake your butt clean off.

TONIGHT: SLY PARK

Mix up a random sampling of alternative, punk, Americana, and R&B in a blender and you’ll get a unique concoction of original rock ‘n roll music that can only be delivered with the integrity of Sacramento’s own SLY PARK. Formed in 2010, SLY PARK is seeping into the pores of the Sacramento music scene with masterful songs created by frontman Keir Wilkinson and delivered with a solid punch by his incomparable bandmates – Devoney Dean, Colin Randau, and Pro Mitra. SLY PARK is returning to The Torch Club on November 8, 2012.

TONIGHT: HOWELL DEVINE

HowellDevine is the kind of blues you don’t hear anymore. The raw
slide guitar played by Joshua Howell evokes the Mississippi Hill
Country greats such as Fred McDowell and RL Burnside. The rhythm
section of drummer and percussionist Pete Devine, along with the bass
of Joe Kyle Jr., breaks from the norm in blues, providing rich and
complex textures integral to the music rather than a simple backing
section for a soloist. The result is a sound which stands in stark
contrast to the typical blues heard in bars these days and would more
likely be shaking the floors of a Southern juke joint some 70 years
ago. HowellDevine brings life back to that sound, infusing the rural
blues with their own unique style. They are the current winners of The
Golden Gate Blues Society’s International Blues Challenge and will be
competing in the IBC in Memphis this January.

TONIGHT: CON BRIO

There’s a ton of buzz around these artists, I’ve heard words like “mesmerizing” and “powerful” and my favorite, “brilliant,”  but I’m going to give you a chance to decide for yourself:  http://youtu.be/7WW3yN7s2l0   Check em here, then come grab some live.

TONIGHT: DENNIS JONES

“Blues You Can Rock To..”  You gotta love that.  Dennis rolling in tonight with his new CD My Kinda Blues, check him out— It could be your kinda blues too.

TONIGHT: DIPPIN’ SAUCE

The weekend is HERE!  Kick off a (finally) cold November with some Dippin’ Sauce, arguably best served with a warm barstool, and a cold drink.

TONIGHT: KERI CARR

Keri’s in tonight, and… as ever, you’ll wake up tomorrow without your shoes .. cuz she’ll knock ’em the heck off  ya with her stellar voice and sick cast of artists that back her up.  Never a bad time around here when Keri’s in.. and .. oh yea.  There’s that Halloween thing, too.
