It’s a Lovely Saturday!

Karen Lovely plays the world famous Torch Club tonight. The multi- Blues Music Award nominated artist hits the stage with her band and her powerhouse vocals. After bursting onto the scene less than 5 years ago, she has been wowing audiences with a mix of old school and contemporary blues.

It’s Thursday! True Mad North is ready to start the weekend with you.

True Mad North is a northern California band whose lyrics will strike a chord with anyone who responds to catchy or thoughtful (not always found in the same place). Their harmonies are occasionally reminiscent of groups like the Beach Boys (seriously, just listen to the latter part of “Sweetie”). If that doesn’t spark your interest, how about the country-style lyrics in “Glass of Gasoline”. Just don’t bring that spark too close.

Merle Jagger is here tonight, Wednesday

Merle Jagger is a trio from LA, but it’s not a citified, Hollywoodized bunch of celebrities. These guys are from the underground scene and in their case, it’s the kind of fertile ground that’s home to citrus ranches and barnyards. This will be something fresh and not to be missed.

TUESDAY: DANIEL ELLSWORTH & THE GREAT LAKES

Not sure what to do for Valentine’s Day? Or maybe you have dinner plans, but you’re eating early? The Torch Club is the place to be! How often do you get to see a Top 20 Billboard act in Sactown? These Nashville cats will bring some sounds you may not have heard before, but will be hard to forget.

Gravel Road in town for your Sunday night.

Gravel Road is from Seattle, home of some of the hottest, edgiest indie bands of our times. They define their recent sound as psychedelic rocking blues, while a quick listen to the rhythm guitar on their 2008 tune “Shot the Devil” will evoke thoughts of tone cranked out by ZZ Top.

Kaye Bohler tonight, Saturday

Join us tonight for Kaye Bohler’s special tribute to the late, great Etta James. This will happen only once here in Sacramento and Kaye is one of the few performers who can pull it off. Don’t miss it!

Shane Dwight for your Friday Night!

Hey everybody, it’s the weekend. Come on out for a Torch Club favorite, the Shane Dwight Band. There’s good reason he has been called a tour de force by his hometown newspaper, the San Jose Mercury News. If you haven’t seen him yet, you need to get on down here and find out why. If you have…well, you know!

Harley White, Jr. for your Thursday night pleasure

Tonight the World Famous Torch Club brings you the music of Harley White Jr., featuring Aaron King. You can expect to hear some bluesy jazz and some jazzy blues. Hey Aaron, can we also look forward to hearing that tube screamer your alter ego was posting about on Facebook? Good thing Harley brings along the electric bass for these gigs.  🙂

Howell Devine for your Wednesday!

Not hearing enough down home blues anymore? How about some raw slide guitar and a hot rhythm section playing the sounds of the old south? Throw in a little harp and you’ve got something that will really get you going. Howell Devine is not just your run-of-the-mill bar band, which is just perfect, because the Torch Club is not your run-of-the-mill bar. No siree!

If It’s Tuesday, It’s Dippin’ Sauce

Dippin’ Sauce has been captivating audiences in the Sacramento area and beyond. Featuring Matt Rainey and getting inspiration from many sources, different styles are expressed in their energetic music that keeps people dancing and smiling. You’ll hear influences that range from old Mississippi blues to roots reggae to folk music. For all of you Beer Dawgs fans (you know who you are), Steve Wall will be dippin’ in with the band tonight! There’s no really good reason to stay home on a Tuesday night, is there?
