TONIGHT: PETER PETTY

Ferociously talented Peter Petty shows up tonight for one of his never know what you’re gonna get shows.  Always new, inventive.. guaranteed entertaining as hell.. Don’t miss this wake-up to your Midweek, you need it.

TONIGHT: HAMILTON LOOMIS

In a rare Saturday appearance Delta City Ramblers pulls in for a No Cover Happy Hour, then at 9 Blind Pig artist Hamilton Loomis comes in from Texas and brings us a “mixed bag of modern blues, modern funk and slick soul.”  It speaks volumes when the likes of Diddley, Johnny “Clyde” Copeland, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and Albert Collins take you under their wings.  I’m thinking you can’g go wrong with this one.

TONIGHT: PETE ANDERSON

Legendary Roots/Guitarist, Pete Anderson returns to the Torch Club. Pete will be performing tracks from his new CD, “Birds Above Guitarland”. The show is heavily Blues based, with elements of Jazz, Roots Music and World Class Guitar playing. Show up early, special guest Vintage Vandals.

TONIGHT: THE STRANGE

Born of blood, sweat and tears, The Strange is the culmination of many lives who have influenced what would become one of The Southwest’s most creative and hard-working true rock acts.

Justin Lindsey’s honest songwriting accented by the powerful and soulful sound that Daniel Murphy, Andy Diekmann and Braden Anderson provide create a familiar, yet exciting new rock experience.

TONIGHT: JEFF JONES

…His sound, a fusion of rock, blues, and R&B, is a direct reflection of Jones himself. Warm, easygoing, and genuine, he embodies the feeling of the music he makes. With the meatiness of George Thorogood, the grittiness of Chris Robinson, and sultriness of Ben Harper, Jones’ sound has real dimension. Live, Jones is a natural. His engaging stage presence alone is proof that he’s at ease and confident with who he is as a musician. – See more at: http://www.jeffjonesband.com/

TONIGHT: TJ KONG AND THE ATOMIC BOMB

TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb are a band of so and so’s who… sound like Bob Seger high on cocaine in the bathtub watching Werner Herzog movies.Or, according to The Deli, “A cross between the Mountain Goats, Tom Waits and the ghost of Captain Beefheart serenading the crowd at a drunken rodeo.”  Wait.  What??    Sometimes you just have to get in and check it for your darn self, ya?  You won’t be disappointed.

TONIGHT: RED’S BLUES, WITH SPECIAL GUEST RUSTY ZINN

No, that is NOT a typo..  Red’s Blues is bringin’ the Blues tonight in the stellar fashion we know them for.. And tonight’s Special Guest Rusty Zinn promises to bring the bar to a whole new level.

Long known as a preeminent Blues artist, Rusty later reinvented himself as a reggae crooner. During breaks between tours with Mark Hummel & the Blues Survivors, he made trips to Kingston to cut two CDs of his original songs with such legendary reggae studio players as guitarists Tony Chin and Mikey Chung, bassists Fully Fullwood and Boris Gardiner, and drummer Sly Dunbar.

Recently recording with Southern California’s The Mannish Boys, Zinn hasn’t done a live blues gig in some time.  What we hear from him tonight is anybody’s guess, but in a rare moment for live music fans in Sacramento, the place will pack out early and there’s not a better way to spend this evening, guaranteed.

COMING UP: REDS BLUES, WITH SPECIAL GUEST

To confirm the rumors yes..   Rusty Zinn will indeed make a rare Sacramento appearance with our own Red’s Blues Thursday 18 July.  I can’t say strongly enough how important it is to get here EARLY and be ready for one of the top performances you’ve seen in recent memory.

TONGIHT: DIVA KINGS

Diva Kings…Diva Kings… Diva Kings… somethin’ about that name, I dunno.. it’s just..  hot.  BUT..  what was I saying? YA.. what I DO know is these cats are ALL HOT and ALL OVER the place right now and if you’re not in on it you…. should be.  Point is..  this is on your shorty list of Do.Not.Miss and I mean it.
