Sunday!

Come on out to the Torch Club for an early, no cover Happy Hour (4-7) with Aaron King and Friends and more great Beer Week specials, then stay for The League to wrap up another great Torch Club weekend!

Afrofunk Experience tonight!

Wow, it’s another one of those Torch Club nights when you can’t figure out how they fit ALL that talent on one little stage. The Afrofunk Experience brings it here from Oakland, with their mix of ORIGINAL BAY AREA FUNK, AFROBEAT, REGGAE, AND MORE. They’ve got what it takes to support all that AND the more.

Midtown Creepers!

Yes, I know a lot of you would feel justified in claiming the name, but the Midtown Creepers beat you to it. They’ve been bringing their blues to the Torch Club for years. Get your weekend up to speed with them tonight! In fact, come in for happy hour for more Beer Week specials! House favorites Pailer and Fratis provide the sounds from 5-7.

Oh, YESSS! Another Beer Week event.

Seriously, what more do you need to know? Well, okay, here’s a little more. Tonight the Contino Band from Las Vegas graces the Torch Club stage. According to their Reverbnation page, the group has crafted a lively and distinctive mixture of blues, Americana, rockabilly, and zydeco. Sounds great to me! You?

Howell Devine tonight! Plus the continuation of Beer Week!

Check this out, it’s a return engagement for the Howell Devine trio tonight. Do you enjoy down home blues? How about some raw slide guitar and a hot rhythm section playing the sounds of the old south? Throw in a little harp and you’ve got something that will really get you going. Howell Devine is not just your run-of-the-mill bar band. If you missed them last time, don’t you do that again! Get yourself primed during happy hour with more of the Torch Club special, Lagunitas IPA for $3.50 per pint  from 5:30-7:30, then hang for some great music.

First the news.

The Sacramento music community joins the family of Steve Schofer in mourning his passing yesterday. He touched the lives of so many and brought much joy through his music.

Sacramento Beer Week!

Join us for happy hour with Hans Eberbach and $3.50 Lagunitas IPA (and keep the glass).

It’s Sunday! My Own Holiday!

Forget about that pre-Monday funk and make it a holiday with My Own Holiday. The duo brings their dirty, bluesy, rock and roll to the home of dirty and bluesy. Don’t miss the show.

Two great shows for your Saturday!

Today, from 4-7 p.m., Neckbone headlines a benefit for the Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation. Potluck — bring a dish to share, Raffle, Live music, Dancing. Then at 9:00, Northern California favorite Daniel Castro takes the stage for your extreme pleasure.

The Nibblers are here!

Wait, let me check my phone, is today Friday? Hey, the Nibblers are here and I don’t have to get up for work the next morning! They were great on Sundays, but here’s a real chance to partay! For anyone who used that as an excuse and hasn’t seen them before, they have horns, soulful vocals, abundant energy and have been voted the Best Funk/R&B Band in the 2010 Sammies. What are you waiting for?
