Grant Farm rolls in tonight

For your Wednesday night, the Torch Club brings Grant Farm from Colorado for your dancing and listening pleasure. Their self-described sound is Roots, Rock and CRIS-CO! A play of a few tracks from their website reveals influences of folk, bluegrass, country disco and slide guitar with some Derek Trucks/Allman Brothers tones. Come in and have a listen!

West of Next tonight.

It’s Tuesday and time to start your music week again. Tonight’s headliners are West of Next, whose music is based on a new approach called Western Rock and Bop. If you can picture original compositions from “an era that hasn’t happened yet”, you know exactly what I’m talking about. What? You don’t? Well then you had just better get on down to the Torch tonight to find out!

It’s Saturday night! It’s the MoFo Party Band!

That’s right, it’s party time with the Fresno band that keeps you partying all night long with their Chicago and West Coast style blues. The Torch Club is the place to be to keep your weekend rockin’!

Friday the 13th!

You’re not superstitious, are you? How could it possibly be a bad night when there are TWO great reasons to come out to the Torch Club. It’s our 12th Anniversary celebration and John Nemeth is back! Come in for the no cover, happy hour, anniversary celebration with Pailer and Fratis, stay for the 9:00 show with John Nemeth, one of the hottest young performers in northern California.

Bonnie Bishop is here tonight!

All the way from Nashville, Bonnie Bishop takes the Torch Club stage tonight. Currently working on an album slated for release this fall, Bonnie’s sound has evolved from her Americana and Texas music roots to incorporate driving rock rhythms on her guitar and piano. A prolific songwriter whose compositions come from the heart and her personal experience, Bonnie is a great addition to the Torch Club calendar. Get your weekend off to the best possible start by coming out to bask in her talent and support her tour.

Lew Fratis Trio

Get your music week off to a great start with a long-time Torch Club regular. Lew Fratis brings his trio tonight for your listening pleasure. Joining Lew will be Joe Lev on bass and Jimmy Bagshaw on the skins. Why not also stop in early and catch Bill Mylar at happy hour?

Coffis Brothers to wrap up the weekend.

Come on out for a great Sunday night at the Torch Club for some young rock n rollers from Santa Cruz, The Coffis Brothers & The Mountain Men.

Get yourself a big blender and pour in some rockabilly, country and rock and what comes together is Dixon’s hot band, Jenny Lynne & Her Real Gone Daddies. It’s Saturday night in Sacramento and where else should you be but the World Famous Torch Club!

Cole Fonseca returns tonight!

If you don’t know Cole Fonseca’s story and you just show up to see him, it’s a memorable enough experience. But if you know he survived a horrendous auto accident (he was not driving) and see how he has fought his way back to be an outstanding musician and performer, it’s almost unimaginable. You don’t want to miss this show, he doesn’t come around to this area too often. You’ll witness intensity and power that is just not all that common. The last time I saw him, he was singing and blowing harp with one hand permanently tucked into his pocket. Recently I heard he was playing guitar again.

Sioux City Kid is here tonight!

Wow, the week is just flying by. Time to get the weekend started as Sioux City Kid visits from San Francisco. Their myspace page identifies their genre as¬†Americana / Indie / Rock. One of the tunes I heard was reminiscent of the sound track of a film about the old west. Now that’s Americana I can relate to.¬†Downbeat at 9:00.
